What is Chiropractic

What_Is_Chiro.jpg All body functions are coordinated and controlled by the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and a complex highway system of nerves.  These body functions include everything from maintaining body temperature and blood pressure to food digestion and absorption.  In other words, your nervous system is always working helping you adapt to environmental changes, and maintain homeostasis so that you can live optimally.

When there is interference in this communication system between the brain and the body, the body begins to NOT function optimally.  The longer this state continues, the gradual further reduction in health.  This state is called disease, or "dis-ease".  The body does not have the normal "ease' that it once had.

Disease doesn't necessarily mean 'pain', since pain is like the instrument light on the dashboard of your car.  The light alerts you to the achnowledgement that there is a problem, but the light itself is not the real problem.  Pain is much the same way.  It alerts us to the aknowledgment that there is dis-ease somewhere in the body.

The role of the chiropractor is to find where the nerve interference exists, and to correct it to allow the free flow of nerve energy from the brain to the rest of the body.  This will allow for a higher level of function throughout the body.

While it's often perceived that the chiropractor is solely to treat back and neck pain, Chiropractic can actually add years to your life, and life to your years!
