What is Chiropractic?

A natural, safe and non-invasive approach

Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that the nervous system controls the function of every cell, tissue, organ and system of the body. Grays Anatomy

While the brain is protected by the skull, the spinal cord is more vulnerable, protected by 24 moving vertebrae.

When these bones (vertebrae) lose their normal motion or position, they can irritate the nervous system.

This disrupts the function of the tissues and organs the nerves control, and is called a Vertebral Subluxation Complex.

Chiropractic is the science of locating these areas of spinal joint dysfunction, the art of correcting them, and the philosophy of all things natural.

The proper and healthy function of the body is controlled and coordinated by the nervous system which consists of the brain, spinal cord, and a highway system of nerves that reach every cell, tissue, organ and system of the body. These body functions include everything from maintaining body temperature and blood pressure, to food digestion and nutrient absorption. In other words, your nervous system helps you to adapt to environmental changes and to enjoy the highest level of survival.

When there is interference in this communication system, the cells and tissues supplied by that part of the nervous system are not able to function at their optimum. Think of what would happen to the plants in a plant bed if the garden hose that supplied the water to it had some interference.

The role of chiropractic is to find if and where the nerve interference exists, and to correct it, so that the body can have better function and better health.
